Young men increase in number within Syrian refugees

Young men increase in number within Syrian refugees

While we might hear that many young Syrian men want to fight against ISIS, there is also information that there are a lot more that are fleeing to Europe. These young men are joining their families, running away from a war they do not want to fight. This demonstrates that the majority of Muslims do not agree with the extremist jihad that groups like ISIS promote.

As the conflict in Syria rises and pushes more and more Syrian refugees into neighboring countries and towards Europe, there seems to be fewer Syrian men who join the army to fight the civil war than those who flee and take a road out. Reports are there are 20,000 people who are joining the armed forces and 4 million who are leaving their homes - many are young men who decide to join their families on a dangerous quest.

However, nothing seems to be more dangerous than joining a war instigated by those who are determined to exterminate those who do not observe the extremists’ Islamic rules.

When asked, during a CNN interview, his views about the United States taking Syrian refugees, neurosurgeon Ben Carson pointed out. “And we should be willing to perhaps help them financially and with some expertise. But the fact of the matter is, we don’t know who those people are,” Carson said, “And the majority of them are young males. And they could easily be people who are being infiltrated by terrorists and recognize that once you bring them in, then you have got to bring other members of the family in.”

However, according to statistical information, even when a large number of young men are refugees, they still do not outnumber the number of women and children fleeing Syria.
