Strict Disciplinary Actin Against French Soldiers For Sexual Abuse Of Children

Sexual abuse of young boys by French soldiers in Central African Republic has been brought to the fore by a United Nations report. The report alleges soldiers stationed in the Central African Republic a peacekeepers to have forced the boys to perform sexually explicit acts before them in exchange for food or money. One of the boys recollects a soldier asking him to perform oral sex in return for food. The report was testified by testimonies given by six children in an interview conducted by a UN staff.

The children gave detailed accounts of how they were forced to perform sexual acts. They recounted their own experiences besides what they had witnessed. They described acts of sodomy being performed on them and their friends. They were threatened with dire consequences if they let the cat out of the bag.

Children were vociferous in their description of the events that took place between December 2013 and June 2014 in Bangui, the capital city of Central African Republic. There were a dozen children who were subjected to such abuses at a displaced persons' camp at M'Poko International Airport in Bangui.

French President Francois Hollande said he is to take stern action against all the concerned. Stringent sanctions are to be imposed against the guilty. The French government is committed to zero tolerance on the issue of sexual violence against children. Children's description of their assailants is going to prove to be useful in this case. Strict disciplinary action is to be taken against all those involved regardless of their ranks.
