Last week China hosted its annual Yulin Festival but this time around the festival has received lots of coverage but it's not the kind of courage that the organizers of the event were hoping for.
For those who are not aware what exactly a Yulin Festival is here is a brief that will help understand what we are talking about. A Yulin Festival is an annual festival in China where people come together so as to eat dog or cat meat. Over the years it is estimated that a total of 10,000 cats and dogs have died as a result of the festival.
Now that we have familiarized ourselves with what Yulin is all about let's get back to the real story. This Year's Yulin Festival just like any other saw many Chinese nationals turning up in numbers so as to participate in the event. At the same time the voices of this echo are condemning the festival also increased significantly. That number then rose even further after organizers of the event posted pictures of dogs before and after being killed. This particular action did not sit well with many animal lovers who blasted the event on social media with many questioning where exactly this fogs are from. According to some this dogs have been stolen from their owners and as such they are asking the government to help in stopping this Festival from continuing.
After the event their were by various pet organizations asking people to help in saving the edges by purchasing them and that was the case when a woman offered to buy 100 dogs for 600 pounds.
