NDA To Remain Tough On Its Stance On Land Bill Come What May

Reiterating the 'pro-farmer' claim of the land bill, BJP chief Amit Shah insisted on the government's tough stance on the bill. President Pranab Mukherjee gave his nod to the re-promulgation of the land acquisition ordinance as it nears the April 5 deadline. The ordinance was to lapse on April 5 unless re-promulgated. With this, NDA legislators have got a fresh breath of life with respect to the land bill.

Shah accused Congress and its allies in Parliament are accused of spreading 'falsehoods' regarding the bill. Shah insisted party members to work for mobilising the favour of the masses in favour of the bill.

Party workers should do all they can to negate the 'anti-farmer' image of the bill being spread by Congress and its allies. The bill is a pointer towards growth and prosperity of farmers. BJP is all set to take its campaign among farmers.

BJP claims to have the mandate of farmers in India. It had a landslide victory in Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Congress should consider the interests of the farming community. Modi said he has lived among farmers and poor. He is in a better position to understand their problems. Farmers need to grow and develop for India to prosper.

The bill in the reformed and amended form is projected by NDA legislators to be in favour of farmers. Opposition parties are said to be playing with the emotions of farmers, given that land is an emotional issue among farmers. Land is equated with mother by the farming community.
