Israeli officials are believed to have seen militants armed with bombs on the Syrian border with Israel. This was the reason it cited for the air strikes on Golan Heights on Sunday. A group of terrorists armed with explosives aimed at Israeli troops were on their way to the border between Israel and Syria. Israeli aircrafts affected the airs takes to prevent the attack on the border.
No casualties were reported, as per the Israeli military. But Iran's state-run English-language satellite news channel Press TV reported on the death of four people in the air strike by Israel. The channel gave no further explanations.
The attack is believed to have been conducted from within Syria. No one came forward to claim responsibility for the attack. It is notable that Syria has been facing the horrors of a civil war since 2011.
Israel has managed to keep itself out of the internal conflict in Syria. It has reappeared in Syria in all its forms on prior instances. The Israeli military was instrumental in shooting down a fighter jet from Syria in it s airspace over the Golan Heights. Golan Heights was a part of Syria till the 1967 Middle East War. Israeli occupation of Golan Heights has been internationally condemned.
