‘’First humans’’ jawbone found in Ethiopia

When we tough that we finally solve the puzzle of our genesis, scientist found a new clue, which can be reason for a new theory of our genesis. Scientists found a human jawbone, which is 2.8 million years old, 400.000 years older than our species first emerged, according to the researcher’s belief. This discovery, in Ethiopia, means that climate changes were responsible for the transition from tree dweller to upright walker.

According to the researchers, this is the most important discovery, related to human transitions during human evolution. Professor Brian Villmoare from University of Nevada in Las Vegas, announced that this discovery is related to iconic human-like-primate (hominin), called Lucy. This fossil is 3.2 million years old, so it is the oldest human fossil ever found. It was also discovered in Ethiopia in 1974.

If scientists prove this theory, this will mean that Hominin kind (Australopithecus afarensis) evolved into the first human (primitive).
The 2.8 million year old fossil was found by Chalachew Seyoum, an Ethiopian student in the Ledi-Geraru research area. Chalachew announced that he was very excited when he found the fossil and he knew what this means!

According to Professor William Kimbel, director of Arizona State University's Institute of Human Origins, the founded jaw is the left part of the lower jaw, which have 5 teeth. The one distinguishes feature between primitive humans and homo-sapiens are the molar teeth, which are smaller than on hominins. Before this discovery, the oldest fossil was an upper jaw attributed to the genus Homo, found in Hadar, Ethiopia. It was 2.3 million years old.
